If I have a beer in the fridge, it also will come out, be opened and then decanted, and then sit for about 10-15 minutes before I drink it. I find with your Belgian ales it is most fun to open and decant, then take your first sip at about 5 minutes, and then cradle it for about a half hour to 45 minutes, noting all of the changes it undergoes in that amount of time.Originally posted by Stacey.:

As for why we never get stuff "flat" here, it would have most to do with the only way to get most of your ales and such is to get ahold of the bottles. The only places with them on tap are usually in the cities, and even then they are kegged and not in a cask. The keg holds the natural carbonation. Oh sure, I can get Newcastle Brown (it really knocks ya down) almost anywhere in bottles, and in some places on tap, but it is a far cry from the nectar of the Gods I hear it is over there, as is Guinness. I'm a stout freak, but given the choice, I will always take US Newcastle over US Guinness.

I will keep an eye out for that one next time I am out and about. Is it a decent sized company? We get some smallish stuff out this way, but it's hard to even get many US Micro brews. But I will keep an eye out. It's a local for you, eh?
Shepherd Neame is a medium-sized brewer, not a micro-brewer. It is fairly local, as I live in Kent. Shepherd Neame have many pubs around south-east England, including several in my town. Most of their brews are available in 500ml bottles in all the major grocery stores.
Bishop's Finger is the brew for you. Quite potent.

Well, lets see, we can talk about politics, or beer. I'll take the beer. Political talk sucks as you will never change somebodies opinion. But a fine tasting beer, we can most all agree on. And most microbrews in the US also do a micro Root Beer for our non-Alcohol swilling brothers such as Raggz. So yeah, fine beer talk is always an open option when you are talking about something as silly as politics.
I will hopefully be by a good Liqour store tomorrow night, I will check for this brew then! Heck man, any of them will be up my alley I am sure. I most want to try their Bitter. [img]graemlins/smarty.gif[/img]
